Holding hands across the street

“There is no ‘health’ without our basic needs being met.” @the_spanglish_therapist.

I want to live in a world where people hold hands crossing the street.

This is not just a romantic ideal. It is possible because as #RamDas suggested, “we’re all just walking each other home.”

“The ache for home lives in all of us, the safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned.” #MayaAngelou

From traveling all over the world, not being born in the United States, choosing to live abroad most of the last 10 years I know this much: we have more in common than what makes us different.

Today I’m living in the United States and I pray/meditate the metta meditation as the antidote to fear and hatred: “May all beings be safe and protected from harm. May each and every being without exception be strong and healthy. May all living beings be peaceful and know true happiness. May each and every living being without exception live their lives with more joy and ease. And together may we complete the great journey of awakening.”

AND “If we cannot now end our differences, at least we can help make the world safe for diversity. #JohnFKennedy
