Baby Got Back – Back bending into Bliss
Come and explore the life affirming possibilities that the practice of back bending brings! On a physical level, backbends strengthen the muscles of the back body, as well as the legs, shoulders, and hips. The chest, lungs, and internal organs are massaged, stretched, and toned.
With this strength, the muscles of the body become less rigid and more supple, creating more freedom of movement, better posture, deeper breath patterns, and a greater feeling of well being. All of these benefits can help us to live in our bodies with increasing comfort and fewer aches and pains and greater vitality.
Emotionally back bending develops both strength and flexibility, enhancing both the security of self-knowledge and the flexibility of receptivity. “Baby got back” reminds us to make peace with our back bodies history using our past to give ourselves our own permission to be happy today. As yogis we choose to turn our world upside down through the practice of inversions to gain an expanded perspective on ourselves and the purpose of our lives. We will work through all the major prep work necessary and will work at our own pace. Come ready to practice patiently& playfully and empower yourself by turning your world upside down!
Inspired Happiness Reggae Flow: “Let’s Get Together and Be Alright”
We will start with a dynamic flow to building inner heat (tapas) through core work and radical self-inquiry. Confront your judgments and fear and learn powerful tools to identify, forgive and integrate the shadow aspects of Self we tend to deny or conceal. While in the flow examine the 3 key habits of happiness we can apply to every pose, and to your life.
Then learn to strengthen your intuition and pinpoint the space created by the physical practice with stillness and silence to tap into your intuition, hear your authentic, inner voice and patiently listen within for the answers on how to create the happiness you deserve. And in the spirit of Bob Marley’s “every little thing going to be alright” we’ll enjoy some rich, restorative yoga accompanied by a touch of sweet meditation after some sweaty-fun vinyasa flow. All to the best Reggae backdrop.
